Handmade metal and stone copper pendant. This pendant has been etched, oxidized and wire wrapped for a truly unique and rustic look.
I dug this stone out of a quarry about 45 minutes from my house and made the cabochon from a slab of that stone. I then cut out my metal back plate, etched it and attached the stone to it using a fine silver bezel wire. I then oxidized the piece for added richness and to really bring out the etched portions of the piece. This also gives the pendant a very organic feel. I added green seed beads to one edge for added texture and visual interest.
This pendant is a about 2 1/4 inches long. The plated silver chain is included.
I strive to make as many of the parts for my jewelry pieces as is possible, and truly enjoy the endless possibilities of pairing my own handmade jewelry components with those that are commercially available, making my handmade jewelry items truly one of a kind.
